Client: Municipality of Brenzone sul Garda
Description:
Brenzone sul Garda is an area made up by several villages overlooking the Lake Garda. All of them are frequented throughout the year both by local residents and tourists. In this balance between everyday life and tourism, the quality of public services plays a key role in how people experience the area. SANO2 installation ‒ designed in synergy with Prefabbricati Santerno and located in via Nascimbeni 34 ‒ fits naturally in this context. In fact, the Municipality of Brenzone sul Garda chose to install a self-cleaning toilet, model DIVO H ‒ equipped with S5 technology ‒ in the lakeside area: a cutting-edge solution designed to guarantee constant hygiene, reliability and ease of use in a highly frequented public space.
The public toilet features a New York design, a choice made for contemporary urban environments. Lines are minimalist and essential while all technical systems are fully integrated and concealed behind the cladding. As a result the facility is perceived not merely as a functional structure, but as a true element of urban furniture.
The external cladding is made of galvanized steel, with powder-coated panels in a corten finish on three sides, while the rear wall is clad with large-format 60×60 cm tiles with a corten-effect finish. This solution combines durability against weather conditions and acts of vandalism with an aesthetic that is consistent with the surrounding landscape.
Two vandal-proof public showers, integrated on the rear wall of the facility, are the most distinctive features of the installation. The showers are equipped with timed push-buttons, allowing water consumption to be regulated and ensuring proper use even during the busiest periods. The shower area is completed by an ivory-colored porcelain stoneware platform with an R11 anti-slip finish, designed to guarantee safety even when barefoot and in wet conditions. This detail is particularly suitable for a lakeside environment, frequented by swimmers, sport enthusiasts and families.
From a technological point of view, the facility is equipped by the S5 self-cleaning system, which ensures complete sanitisation of toilet bowl, its surrounding walls and floor after each use. This allows consistently high hygiene standard to be maintained, thus offering users a clean environment at all times, while significantly reducing the need for manual interventions.
Heating in the technical room is provided by infrared radiant panels, a high-efficiency solution that directly warms surfaces, without convective heat losses. This system converts 100% of the electrical energy used into thermal power, delivering a heating output of 300 Watts and a surface temperature ranging between 70 and 90 °C. Compared to traditional systems with electric heating elements or fan heaters, this technology ensures lower energy consumption, greater reliability, and an almost unlimited service life, in line with SANO2’s sustainability approach.
The technical installation is completed by a ventilation system with an extractor fan designed to ensure a continuous air exchange within the user compartment. Thanks to a high-capacity centrifugal fan with low noise emissions, the systems guarantees about 60 air exchanges per hour, helping to maintain a fresh and healthy environment at all times.
With this project, SANO2 has delivered a self-cleaning public toilet with integrated showers, set within a lakeside environment overlooking Lake Garda, where the quality of public restroom facilities has a tangible effect on the way families, tourists, senior citizens and sports enthusiasts experience public spaces on a daily basis.
