Description:
A CIAO model self-cleaning public toilet, equipped with S4 technology, has recently been installed in the beating heart of Fort-de-France, Martinique capital city. The project ‒ commissioned by SERCO ‒ has been carried out by SANO2PAQUET ‒ and produced by a leader in this sector, the Italian company Prefabbricati Santerno,. This installation stands out not only for its advanced functionality, but also for its careful integration with the surrounding environment, responding to the needs for an urban fabric where tradition and modernity blend together.
The structure aesthetic has been accurately designed to respect the city architectural context. With this kind of self-cleaning public toilet we talk about innovation and urban integration at the service of citizens. The external cladding is made up of wood-effect tiles measuring 90×15 cm, with honey-coloured shades. The facility design perfectly harmonises with the colonial façades typical of the historical city centre, as well as with the natural materials often used in the local construction industry. Apart from the aesthetics, the tiles chosen are characterised by a high resistance to wear and atmospheric agents, ensuring it a long life span with no need for frequent maintenance.
From a functional point of view, the automatic toilet of the S4 SANO2PAQUET technology offers automatic and complete sanitisation of the toilet after each use, eliminating the need for manual cleaning interventions and ensuring a constant level of hygiene for all users. The automated washing cycle includes cleaning and disinfection with environmentally friendly detergents and the subsequent drying process of all support surfaces and floor.
Another relevant feature is its vandal-resistant air conditioning system, installed both in the public area and the technical room. The system maintains optimal thermal conditions even in the hottest and most humid periods of Martinique tropical climate.
As far as safety is concerned, state-of-the-art solutions have been implemented. Among these, a fire prevention system integrated into the waste bin with an automatic extinguishing nozzle to prevent accidental fires.
Its anti-intrusion alarm system protects the technical compartment access door, preventing unauthorized access and acts of vandalism.
This installation represents a model of innovation in the city’s public services, improving the quality of urban life thanks to a combination of design, advanced technology and environmental sustainability.
